Club History

The club was founded in 1912. Tradition says that Bertie Ennis, Charlie Lett and Tony Furlong met in co-op yard on Mill Park Rd and said 'let's form a rugby club'. A driving force behind the Club was Dr Charles Robert Boyce, honorary secreatry of the club. The first training session was in Rectory Fields on Thursday, 14th Novemeber 1912.

The club was reformed at a meeting in the Railway Hotel in 1919 following a suspension of games during the First World War.

The present youths section was started on an organised basis by Bill Lett and JJ Murphy. Over the next 5-6 years this developed into a vibrant minis and youth section. a

Enniscorthy RFC relcoates it's grounds to the Ross Road.

A seperate building was constructed containing changing rooms, showers and toilet facilities.

A new clubhouse with it's improved facilities was opened on the 20th November 2005, the same day that the club secured promotion to Division 1A of the Leinster League.

Promotion to AIL and the club returns to senior rugby.
