Declan O'Brien Honorary Lifetime membership: Enniscorthy Rugby Club's highest award which has only been awarded to six people in over a hundred years of the club's history. Declan is a worthy recipient as a man who has dedicated an immense contribution to the onward progress of Enniscorthy RFC . As a player, he was capped many times for Leinster between 1998 and 2002 playing 20 Heineken Cup matches for the Province and gaining an Ireland A cap v France in 2000. He also won a senior cup medal with Clontarf before returning to play with Enniscorthy. His return to Enniscorthy as a player was a major boost to club which saw the club contesting and winning towns cups and All Ireland junior cups. However as a coach and driver of standards in the club and identifying improvements needed he drove the club all the way to the All Ireland League winning promotion to next level, a position where the club now sits, something that would have been previously unimaginable. The one constant in this journey has been Declan’s input above and beyond the call of duty , a truly worthy recipient of this award.
